HRSC Press Release #447 - Kasei Valles - Sacra Fossae (orbit 6241)
On 11 November 2008 the High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC), under the leadership of the Principal Investigator Prof. Dr. Gerhard Neukum of Freie Universitaet Berlin, onboard the ESA spacecraft Mars Express obtained image data in orbit 6241 with a ground resolution of approximately 21 meters per pixel. The data were acquired in the region Kasei Valles/Sacra Fossae approximately 12° northern latitude and 285° eastern longitude. [more....]
HRSC Press Release #443 - Daedalia Planum (orbit 6396)
On 25 December 2008 the High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC), under the leadership of the Principal Investigator Prof. Dr. Gerhard Neukum of Freie Universitaet Berlin, onboard the ESA spacecraft Mars Express obtained image data in orbit 6396 with a ground resolution of approximately 17 meters per pixel. The data were acquired in the region Daedalia Planum at approximately 21° southern latitude and 243° eastern longitude. [more....]
HRSC Press Release #439 - Ma'adim Vallis (orbit 6393)
On 24 December 2008 the High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC), under the leadership of the Principal Investigator Prof. Dr. Gerhard Neukum of Freie Universitaet Berlin, onboard the ESA spacecraft Mars Express obtained image data in orbit 6393 with a ground resolution of approximately 15 meters per pixel. The data were acquired in the region south-east of Ma’adim Vallis at approximately 29° southern latitude and 182° eastern longitude. [more....]
A frozen lake on Mars

On Mars there is a frozen body of water the size of the North Sea , on which one can see large floes of pack ice. The lake was discovered while analyzing high-resolution images taken by the stereocamera HRSC (High-Resolution Stereo Camera) onboard the European spacecraft Mars Express. This is the conclusion of a group of researchers from the imaging team. The head of the researchers is the British geologist John Murray from the Open University in London. [more....]

Enceladus Flyby

Feburary 17th 2005: Last Tuesday Cassini passed Titan's surface at a distance of 1580 km for the third time and completed its first close passage of Enceladus last night;

Huygens successful
January 14th 2005: Huygens entered the atmosphere at 10:07 MEZ (probe time) and reached the surface at approximately 12:38 MEZ.

Iapetus passage
January 2nd 2005: Successful Iapetus passage. A total of 288 images were send to Earth.
